Penang Day 1 (part 1)

places we covered: st.george's church, esplanade, fort cornwallis and clan jetties (:

During the entire exam period, all I was looking forward to was this one week break, before i work full time. Going overseas with my favorite girls is really... just awesome! Knew them since i was 13 and its a good 7 years of friendship now (: Was sooo excited for this trip and its finally here (:

CHULIA HERITAGE HOTEL
Being budget travelers, we got ourselves a budget accommodation- Chulia Heritage Hotel. It received rather awesome reviews online, and it indeed did not fail our expectations. It's pretty and quite roomy. Besides, the service staffs here are really kind and friendly. TWO THUMBS UP for a $15/night/head accommodation!

Chulia Heritage Hotel is located in the middle of Georgetown, more specifically at Lebuh Chulia (aka Chulia Street). Within walking distance to many attractions and food stores, it is an excellent location! Here are some photographs of how the hotel looks like!
happy girls!!!

LUNCH @ SKY HOTEL
On our way to the hotel, the taxi uncle recommended for us to lunch at this coffee shop below the Sky Hotel (which is along Lebuh Chulia as well). Apparently, it serves extremely yummy charsiew/duck/roast pork rice! a very rustic looking store i must say.

yummy yummy roast duck!
Char siew and roast pork. YUMMY MAX!
Verdict: the food was simply delicious! i especially loved the roasted duck and char siew (which was really charred.) We had charsiew, roast pork and roasted duck and the meal came up to RM28 for 5 people (: not too expensive for a Singaporean, but definitely slightly pricey for a local Malaysian. The portion is slightly on the small side as well.

On our way to the shopping malls within Georgetown, we came across a "bing" shop, selling tau sah piah (my fav!!!) and other goodies! being a bunch of gluttons, we just had to try some of their goodies. afterall, its like RM 0.40 (<S$0.20) per tau sah piah, no harm trying! here are just some photos!
gluttons seriously. heh!
ST.GEORGE'S CHURCH
After lunch, we took the free CAT (Central Area Transit) service, courtesy of the local government, around Georgetown to many attractions. One of which is St. George's Church, which sadly wasn't opened today! What a wasted trip! But we still managed to snap some pretty pictures before we left.

GROUP SHOT!!!!
St. George's Church (: how pretty!

okay, i shall just end here for now or there will be a picture-overload! part 2 up next!
