picnic at barrage

my 1st post exams activity- picnic@barrage!

it was an awesome, yet extremely warm day out at the barrage. even though we went at 430pm (nearer to when the sun is setting), it was still extremely sunny /: can really feel my burnt cheekbones now! hahaha.

nic was the chef of the day and prepared quite a lot of good food :D yay! no pictures of the food sorry cause i was in a terrible position  to take any nice pictures. so anyway, here are just some pictures of the people i picnic-ed with (:

haha we even had picnic drinks, like martini hehee! but my sensitive stomach really cant take the drinks at all -.-

happy picnic-ing. though it left us extremely tired at the end of the day, but it was still pretty fun! 

so people, seize the (extremely) sunny weather and head out for a picnic with your loved ones/ friends. FLY KITE TOO CAUSE ITS JUST FUN :D

outing with the A Block people yesterday and it was FUN! plenty amount of wonderful junk food (chips, nuggets, fries, milo, potato salad, bread with spread etc) and fun and laughter (: even though i've moved out of A block, i honestly can't help to miss those people whom i've lived with for one entire academic year.

this time, some freshies came along and it was really nice getting to know all of them! i guess its about time for me to pop back and say hello, before i get too old for all these socializing (:

anyway, here are just some photos i took yesterday. decided to take the opportunity to learn how to photoshop in some lomo effects (: i'm sorry some of you dont have personal shots! more to come next time!

Fly Kite Fly Kite~

KITE FLYING+PICNIC DAY!! (: wheee!

The last time we went on a kite flying or picnic was almost a year ago! Thank goodness, the boy had some spare time for us to go out and have fun!! We prepared a 3 course meal (it was almost a 4 course meal), which proved to be slightly too much for us. But yay, cooking with him is always fun! So here's what we had for lunch- red date and logan drink (cheated, cause we got it off the shelves of NTUC), borscht soup (cheated as well,its campbell), Don's shepard's pie (cheated #3) and mango prawn salad (which we made ourselves, finally!)

This time round, we chose to go the the Marina Barrage, after the failed attempt near Anchorvale Community Club simply because there was no wind. Boy, it was such a crowded day till our kite got tangled with some other! And the weather was a killer! Just 1.5hrs in the sun and we were zapped out of our energy! If not for the hearty meal we prepared, I would have probably fainted there. Ok, maybe that's slightly exaggerating.

The winds at the Barrage made it way too simple for the pro! Like within 5mins, he managed to get the kite high into the sky! But, I would have been able to do that too! Hmph!

But anyhow, it was a really fun day-waking up way too early to prepare the salad and pack the food and all. This may sound brainless, but it's such simple pleasures that adds colours to your everyday life. No??

the kite flying day (:

the boy and i have said to go for a kite flying session since... almost 3 years ago! haha but lazy us have never actually gotten to do it. until one day, i decided to buy a huge-mongous goldfish kite from Giant (:

yepp! so we took a train down to anchorvale (in sengkang) where there was a HUGE field to fly kites. pity there was no wind that day, so we only managed a small feat of putting the kite in the air for like a few minutes, and it came down /:

below are some shots i took with The Bogus One (i.e: 135BC Holga). decided to try out with the Ekta Chrome negative film from Fujifilm this time round. i <3 the dreamy look but hmmms, some shots look over exposed/ not properly exposed. oh well, let the pictures do the talking!

Whee! the goldfish is flyingggg~ hahaha. you have no idea how happy i was! so yah, since the kite was in the sky already, i thought i might try a multiple exposure shot! i have done many before, but they were always underexposed/overexposed, thus not developed. SO THIS IS THE 1ST SUCCESSFUL SHOT (((:

 

those whitish streaks are actually the clouds on the sky (: haha. not too bad, at least the fish did not superimpose onto the face. but this is not the prettiest shot though /: hahaha.

but anyway, kite flying was mad fun! haha and i think the boy is so pissed off that there was no wind, he kept asking to go fly kite! (: i think one day soon, we will!
