FOC & ME

the journey was long and hard. we went through ups, we went through downs, and in the end, we pulled it off, great (: probably one of the best university decisions i have made was to have joined the organising committee for the Business Freshmen Orientation Camp.

many people wonder, why in the world did i sign up for this hell of a shi*t job- you don't get to know freshies directly,an 8 months commitment, have to manage people problems all the time etc. i dont know either, maybe FOC2010 had just such a huge impact on me, it just dawned on me as a responsibility to pass it on to the incoming freshies.

yesterday night, 23rd June 2011, at 10pm, FOC2011 officially ended with a bang. and i cant help but feel sad, that i can no longer work with certain awesome people anymore (we try to do project work tgt next time k!). But before mentioning their names, here's a quick recap of what had happened in the past few days (with a few photos lacking here and there for some events).

Prolog team
especially the heads, michelle and sarah, thank you all for your 101% commitment towards this camp. it wouldnt have been possible if you have pulled stunts on me and MIA-ed on the first day. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! special mention to jiaying, camilla and weiling, probably the hardest workers during the camp itself (especially on RW), you are really an awesome bunch to work with. i cannot thank you all enough!

Welfare&Manpower Team
weihan and jithin, the teams you have led are awesome! always present when they have station masters duty, always there when some shi*t crops up and food is always on time! (maybe too on time, considering lunch comes at 10am and dinner comes at 2pm) thank you all for being part of FOC2011 (:

Finance Team
for coming up with the money to get my logistics, get the rooms paid for, get stuff to put in the goodie bags and all (: all these fun wouldnt have been possible without $$$ and yoshi, even though you weren't down for camp, thank you for popping by when you were free (: sorry you always catch me at the most stressful moments so i didnt really get to talk to you. /:

BENCHUA
SORRYY LEFT YOUR NAME OUT NOW ITS BIG BIG OKAY!!! (bigger than the big boss one leh, see i how sincere!) thank you for being the small ahbeng of FOC. (: leading a team of wonderful people, weihan jithin celine melissa etc, during the camp and making me laugh with all your "big talks". its truly a joy to have known you and we do project work together next time lah (: SORREEYYYYY!

FOR HELPING ME TO GET MY $$ BACK!!! teehee! it was just too bad that you cldnt be around during the acutal camp, but no matter what, i am grateful that the ever so meticulous you have gotten my money back for me (: teeheehee!

AUNTIE/UNCLE/AH LIAN (: the only Main Comm member who is in ALMOST EVERY FOC Committee- Prolog, Finance, MC (oh and even in an OG ah..). Thank you for being ever so meticulous and auntie, makes me laugh and cringe (in a good way) at the same time. your help in all the dry runs, fund raising events and the actual camp itself was just so invaluable. THE MVP AWARD OF CAMP MMXI GOES TO YOU LAH (:

i know this journey is tough, but it has all ended. thank you for being there to listen to my rants about certain problems and try to get some of them resolved. this camp wouldnt have been successful if you weren't so committed (:

seet, thanks for really being by my side whenever problems crop up and trying to resolve them for me. to listen what i have to say, how i feel, my rants etc, i know its not easy for anyone to hear all these angst, especially a guy. but thank you. all the way from XOXO to DR1 and DR2 and the actual camp, you have supported me from a higher level and tried to put my suggestions into play. and i must quote you,"Haha the sacrifices you made for the camp. Dont worry if everyone else doesnt know, cos i do =)" i have learnt a lot from you throughout this camp and so, once again, thank you (:


OGLs/AOGLs/Councillors/FF
thank you for staging such a good show. FOC is like a play, where there are backstage and front stage crew. whatever the Organising Committee had done back stage are "dead", the very same games would have been extremely dull if not for your enthusiasm and high spirits. thank you for sacrificing your sleep, voices and maybe even health for this 4d3n camp (: you all were so awesome out there, i couldn't help but feel extremely happy and touched. i sincerely thank all of you for appearing for DRs, Day-1, Day0 and Day1. i dare say that.. YOU ARE THE MOST AWESOME BUNCH OF OG SENIORS THAT I HAVE EVER MET <3
