Day 1 in Phuket

2 days in Phuket now, and i have this really horrible bite on my foot. The sore is so huge, it could possibly cover my entire right foot, minus the toes part. EWWW. well, aside from the mozzies, everything has been pretty great. Awesome hotel, nice food, beautiful scenery... (:

This time, Mumsy booked a really nice 2 bedroom-2 bathroom hotel (: Its the Marriott Vacation Club, Mai Khao Beach (JW Marriott). Check it out!

The compound is pretty big, so the Marriott Hotel kindly offered their residents a shuttle bus to get from point A to point B. While the distance is still pretty walkable, we decided to hop onto the shuttle bus since it was right before us!
Here's a picture of the shuttle bus.
We alighted at the Turtle Village (one stop away from our hotel) and there was a Swensons! Nice! Besides, they have a Supermarket, some retail stores and some pubs around. OH OH. They have an Esprit factory outlet too (:
We went into the Supermarket called Turtle Mart to get some daily necessities. But boy, the items there are not cheap! Its almost Singapore pricing. Talk about tourist spot!
And here, they have the Thai version of Vitagen, its called Betagen (: haha, funny though because it tastes more like Yakult. But nevertheless, it was yummy. And oh, the biggest bottle you see here is a 420ml bottle. Imagine drinking 420ml of Betagen at one go...
At night, we proceeded to watch the highly acclaimed Phuket Fantasea show. They have some displays before going in. Some of their lightings can get rather distasteful, but others are pretty (:
Here are just some other pictures of the compound (:
And, they have this MUST VISIT attraction within the Fantasea "theme park", its where they hold white tigers etc etc. While I personally feel its extremely cruel to isolate animals like that... I must admit that they do display pretty different animals, like pelicans.
So sorry if the pictures look blur/ fuzzy. My camera isn't good enough to capture sharp images in the dark ): That's all for Day 1 (:

Happy 22nd Jasper!

The birthday boy was such a spoil sport. Refusing to come out with us and playing hard to get... Tsk Tsk! But with Ter's help, we managed to get him out of the house to celebrate his birthday (: HAPPY 22ND J***E*. (:

Steamboat was on the menu today! (and it was our opportunity to give ter his $5 sharkfin) We met up at TM to do some shopping and headed right to Shawn's place to start preparing before the Birthday Boy came (:  And... I am so proud of myself for volunteering to handle the meat (: One step closer to becoming a domestic goddess!

Ter also introduced this SUPER UBER NICE JAP SNACK (: haha slightly spicy and salty.. BUT I LIKE!
And just look at all the food we prepared, just for 5 people. it was just sooooooooooo difficult to finish it but we did anyway! Good job me, to helping to clear the food but it certainly burst my calorie budget ):
And now, we are just waiting for the food to start boiling before we begin our feast!
And the Birthday Boy is just MEGA MEGA TIRED! haha must be all the school activities during the holidays! But oh well, this is a pretty chillax birthday celebration (:
No pictures during meal time as i thought it would be rather disruptive. But anyway, we had some baileys and  Jasper just refused to drink after his freak drunk accident. I ended up drinking 2 cups for him. Zzzz.
And then, its finally time to cut cake! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JASPER ONCE AGAIN!

dinner date

guess, i have been vomiting posts on my blog. i have an entire backlog of photos to clear! haha (: just last night, the boy and i dinnered out at Ambush, this little cafe (i think it's a cafe), found on B2 of Takashimaya (:

how Ambush looks like!

and so.. this is the menu (:
bratwurst sausage with rosti
pork garlic and thyme sausage with rosti

OH! and i forgot to say that whatever price you see on the menu, is the price you pay! so there's no additional GST or service charge (well, they could have included it the prices!) but nevertheless, food was not too pretty nice and i will definitely go back again to try their pasta and salads (:

dessert bowl

This is one out-dated post (:

It was a Starhub outing AGAIN! haha went with the gang to Chompchomp, wanted to munch on powsing, dessert bowl and chompchomp! We managed to go all three... BUT WE ATE SO MUCH ): cldnt even enjoy chompchomp properly. haha. No photos from powsing and chompchomp though. only those from dessert bowl (:

Dessert bowl is a dessert shop (obviously) situated in Serangoon Gardens Circus. Its got a little "hongkong" feel to it. The shops decorated with hongkong street-like signs, quirky quotes etc. It used to be our favorite hideout before my friend left for USA (: We could sit there for hours- talking, chilling, eating and playing bridge. What i especially love about that place is its quite ambiance, the awfully huge sofa seats (which can fit like all 7 of us) and the delectable desserts <3 OH! did i forget to mention that they have a stash of magazines for people who wish to chill their noon away! its a great place to hide from the terribly humid weather(:  look at reviews from hungrygowhere.com. its just so awesome!

some photos of my favourite people before we proceed to the desserts okay!
okay, so this is my ultimate favourite dessert! always have it when i am here (: its puloh hitam with ice cream!!!!! <3 max! the combination is just awesome!
MANGO AIYU! this is so awesome too (: a little too sweet for my liking though!

can't remember what's its name, but its nice too (: i prefer aiyu though, dont really like pearls /:

LOOK HOW MUCH WE HAVE EATEN (: ok maybe its not a lot. hahaha.

and how can we not play bridge?? it's just oh-so-fun. although i got pwned many times /: RUSTY ALR ):
