Bangkok Day 1

(Day 1 post is 1 day late okay!!)

FINALLY!!! after waiting for 3 whole months, its time to go bangkok WHEEE!

This time round, we took Tiger Airways TR2109 to BKK (: 1st time taking Tiger Airways and boy, i am impressed by the smoothness of the journey! ok, there were slight turbulence here and there, but otherwise, its a smoother journey than certain international airlines!

after a 2hr long flight, we finally reached bangkok (: took the Airport Express Line down to Ratchaprarop Station along the BTS. boy, i must say that their Airport Express Line is looks really clean and neat!

this is their train station, where we waited for the BTS to come (:
this is Minhui, my classmate in NUS <3

Stopped at Ratchaprarop Station and walked towards the hotel. 1st time experiencing Bangkok's warm but not-so-humid weather and its overwhelming traffic (both human and vehicle). The environment was initially too chaotic for me to handle /:

Here are some street shots:
such roadside sellers.... haven't seen them for a long long while..

This time, we booked Budacco Hotel, a 3* hotel meant for budget travellers (yes, we are students remember??) It's pretty highly acclaimed, aside from other hotels like Baiyoke Sky, on many local forums like cozycot.com (: Check out its website! While the location of Budacco isn't as good as that of Baiyoke Sky (considering that we have to walk through a small crammed road junction and the vehicles can get crazily close to you in those narrow roads), I am pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and neat decor (: We got ourselves PINK rooms (: haha. POOR GUYS!

After all is settled, we proceeded to change some cash and then prepared to feast on some yummy thai food! Jon brought us to MBK and introduced a steamboat restaurant called MK Steamboat for dinner and the prices there were really reasonable! we ate a considerable amount and the bill only chalked up to $8/head. YAY!!

Just look at these pictures of us hungry souls!
Danny dear <333
Jon and Spencer (:
Katrina and Minhui (:
Just look at this greedy pig!

What's a dinner without some local dessert? Here we tried some of their pancake, which was really sweet but nonetheless tasted yummsy! and guess what, it costs only 10Baht (aka 50cents)!
Pancakes in the making!
a closeup of one of the pancakes we tried. the white thing you see there is sweetened cream i think /:
Happy Jon with his happy food (:
On our way back to hotel, we stopped by this upmarket mall, Siam Paragon as we were attracted by their Krispy Kreme shop. Well, no Krispy Kremes for us as we ended up having some REALLY YUMMY ICE CREAM from The Cream&Fudge Factory (similar to Marble Slab Creamery or Cold Stone Creamery)
look at the hungry people furiously checking out the menu! hahahhaha
In the end, we settled for a creamier mix compromising of peanut butter, chocolate and cheesecake flavoured ice cream (: Here's our ice cream in the making!
Step 1: Scooping the ice cream out (:
Step 2: Adding the toppings
Step 3: Mixing the ice cream with the toppings
Step 4: Rolling them up nicely and serve the beautiful dessert <333
And boy, I must say that the ice cream was just sooo delicious!! YAY!

This probably marks the end of my day 1 (: No photos for Day 2 as it's an ALL-SHOPPING day  and i stupidly left my SD card in my laptop! hahaha!

Day 3 is tomorrow and we're going to Chinatown! Hopefully there will be many pretty pictures!!
